| So this is the thread I started to post my kaiju fan-art, I figure that any of the dedicated artists around here should start a post for their own galleries, that way hopefully are creations won't get scattered amongst the various threads in the Art, Fan-Art, And GFX Shop General Thread. Anyway, most of this is my latest works, collected from my deviantArt gallery. It's all Pacific Rim inspired, with their names and categories being: Scimitar [top two pics], Category II Maelstrom, Category IV Regasaurus and Hobgoblin, Categories III and I Morningstar, Category II [the pic says Category III, but I think Cat II better fits the design] Satyr, Category I Redtide, Category III Biolator, Category I Autorite, Category III Carnage [is actually a amalgam of itself and Bonehead; they're were similar enough to just combine!], Category IV | |

| Good lord, never met anyone with so much Pacific Rim Kaiju art before O.O Especially with a large pit of original kaiju. You really invested in skill into creating them, besides the art pieces, how you categorized them and given them character sheets in such detail, I have to say, your gallery is killer! | |

| Pacific Rim Kaiju have always seemed like the type of giant monsters that would be involve from either the Godzilla series, or the Ultraman series, their designs somehow blending both creative aspects of both worlds. I think that's probably why I found them so damn appealing, and probably why I enjoy your original kaiju very much AdventDestiny! Do you have a specific favorite original Pacific Rim kaiju that you created? | |

| I'd have to say that my favorite designs are Scimitar and Maelstrom, that's why I put them on top! | |

| Sadly no; I had intended Biolator to be capable of doing a Mothra-style metamorphisis into a giant Hornet Kaiju, though now I'm thinking of saving the Hornet kaiju as an original creation. | |

| That's part of the reason I chose a hornet... because hornets scare the crap out of me! I was attacked by several hornets when I was young [I had no clue that hornets could build their nests on the ground!], and ever since, it seems every hornet I come across has the twisted desire to buzz into my face, almost like they know I'm scared to death of them! | |

| I didn't know Hornets could build nest on the ground either O.o Yeah I don't think I'll be exploring on any upcoming hiking trips over the summer. I'm extremely allergic to Hornet poison from their stings, this just reminds me that I need to be more careful and alert this upcoming summer.
Still they make for an interesting concept for kaiju creations, they are much more intimidating than Bees and nearly almost as large as Wasps, and imagining a Pacific Rim Kaiju based on a Hornet, good lord...The fear factor from that! | |

| This is some fan-art of Varan, I made a while back, and it was an early shading test... actually the real reason I'm posting this is to figure out how to host an image directly from my hard drive, instead of inserting an image from anothe ULR. Hopefully this'll work... and it sort of did, though I was trying to insert it onto the actual post instead of just a link. But I figured it out, so never mind! | |

| Anguirus's design looks surprisingly realistic, almost like what he could potentially be in a modern Godzilla movie. Sweet! Varan looks like the most unique one of this group, it's Varan-like, but could be a special monster all on its own. Same with Gorosaurus, but Varan takes it to a whole new level Baragon looks like a faithful update to the Showa Incarnation, killer-take! I've always loved the Showa Baragon design more than the GMK one ^_^ | |

| Yeah, I actually remember thinking how, in one of his close ups, Baragon looked like a big brown Boston Terrier! Anguirus was the first, and he was the one I worked on the most. Varan was more a creative leap, because I figured it'd make more sense that he'd have a sail attached to his back spines, at least from a biological standpoint. | |

| Very creative work, I do like these creations, but I must say Anguirus does look like a creative step for a realistic design, love it! Varan's sail does make sense, looks like an evolutionary growth that would help him glide through the air quite well. | |

| Thanks! Like I said, Anguirus is probably the best one I did, also the first... but you know, I actually wasn't entirely happy how the actual redesign looked when I was done, it looked a little too much like the original, and for the life of me I can't figure out why a quadraped ankylosaur-like kaiju would have such a predatory snout! | |

| Mmm...Well, ya got me there. Toho just went with creative liberates and went with the flow of their own mindsets. Even I'm not sure how to make a creatively respectable Anguirus on a more modern scale >.> Ah, the curses of creativity and art. | |

| Yeah, in situations like this you have to pick a style to build off of, in this case referencing the techniques used to bring the new Godzilla to life... | |
